Birth Rune Uruz (July 15 – 29)

If you were born between July 15 and July 29, happy birthday!

Your birth rune is Uruz. The Norn gifted you with your birth rune to help you achieve your destiny and fulfill your purpose. (There’s also a birth hour rune that relates to your day to day life, and an ascending rune that reveals how you are perceived and how you manifest the divine. If you’re interested in a complete reading with all three of your runes from the Norn, hmu!)

Birth Rune 7 15 to 29 UruzUruz translates to the aurochs, now-extinct wild oxen, about the size of modern bison (huge). But Uruz is usually used to indicate strength, courage, freedom, and independence.

So what does this rune mean for you?

Let’s take a look. First, I want to remind you that if you find this useful or inspiring, please give this post a like before you go. Now, let’s dig in!

Each of us has a lesson to learn on this journey through life. Let’s take a look at how Uruz can help if it’s your birth rune:

Those of you at the end of Cancer are here to learn to nurture yourselves and connect with your own feelings. You’re normally supremely tuned in to the natural rhythms of the moon and this planet, and most of you are highly intuitive so clearly you’re good at tuning in to other people’s vibes.

But you need to apply that awareness to yourself from time to time. Cancer is the cardinal water sign – you are the idea people, the creative planners. That’s great! Except you have a natural shell up that keeps you from applying your own good ideas to yourself. So how can Uruz help you?

The strength of Uruz supports your mental and physical health. Checking in with yourself regularly means you’re less likely to put yourself last. Cancer, you have to take care of yourself so you can take care of others. Remember, Uruz is also about independence, so don’t hesitate to assert your home ground or need for personal space whenever you need it.

You early Leos are here to learn to express yourself boldly and take credit. This may seem odd because Leos tend to be more bold in most of their actions and the stereotypical Leo doesn’t hesitate to grab the spotlight!

Although Leo is a fixed sign and normally starts to take action while Cancer plans, you early Leos don’t need to roar for others to know you’re lions. But that’s no reason to sit back and keep quiet! Uruz can help.

This rune brings strength, courage, and persistence, but balances that with the ability to control untamed aggression with wisdom and responsibility. And this combination of power and control will naturally encourage you to speak up and take credit when it’s due.

Uruz is a rune of power and vitality.

Visually, it’s like looking at the profile of a giant wild ox, with feet firmly planted, the embodiment of strength and self-control. Of course, if the power becomes too much, the excess becomes an extreme, and Cancer may become needy and gloomy while Leo may become competitive or throw a temper tantrum to gain attention.

This rune comes with a caution:

The strength of Uruz is not to use over others, but to stop others from wielding undue power over you. The ancient aurochs easily stood 5 feet high at the shoulder and could weigh a ton or more. This was not an animal prone to mindlessly stampede; it rarely needed to display its full power when quiet control could be just as effective. Use this rune to do what is necessary to take care of yourself on your journey. Being mindful allows you to fully harness the energy of the aurochs.

A little love goes a long way on the Internet so please like and share this post with your friends. And if you enjoyed this post, consider subscribing for new and full moon readings along with readings for other special occasions, and of course, information on all the birth runes.

See you next time!
